For fifty years, I stood behind a camera, always rolling.

It took me places I never expected to go. Feature film sets. Super Bowl sidelines. Fashion runways. Prison yards. Streets and villages around the world.

I met presidents, prisoners, celebrities, survivors, athletes, scammers, and people whose names never made the news.

From Haiti to Hawaii. Madagascar to Morocco.

I had a front-row seat to moments most people never get to see.

Some were funny. Some were heartbreaking. Some still don't feel real.

The faces changed. The places changed. Some moments stayed with me.

These are those stories, told the way they happened.

Each chapter drops you into a different room, a different life. By the time one ends, you're already onto the next.

Start reading.

We're already rolling.

From the other side of the lens

You can film everything and still miss what matters.

You can't hug someone with a camera between you.

THE STORIES

Mel Brooks blessed my name.

Muhammad Ali rope-a-doped me.

Fashion runways to sleeping in doorways.

Surprised. Arrested. Scammed. Damned.

Stories only a cameraman would see.
